Enterprise-level wellbeing and mental health awareness programs

We help organizations and people help themselves.

Espyr offers several wellbeing and mental health consulting programs for organizations and leadership teams. While these are structured programs with set objectives, they are readily customized to meet the needs of the organization.

Mental Health Awareness Program

The Mental Health Awareness Program is designed to educate employees on mental health issues that might appear in the workplace and impact performance, wellbeing and quality of life. It addresses how to respond in a supportive manner, as well as communicate effectively to help an employee get connected with company resources.

Through the Mental Health Awareness Program, employees, managers and leaders can learn basics about common mental health issues in the workplace. The program aims to increase sensitivity and reduce the stigma of getting help.

  • Employee Advocate and Support Program (EASP)
The EASP trains employees to identify signs of mental health issues within the workplace, provide support and refer colleagues to the appropriate resource, such as management or licensed mental health professionals. In addition to serving as advocates, EASP participants receive ongoing professional development training to promote healthy wellness habits.
  • Mental Health Awareness and Response Advocate Program for Managers
This training program teaches managers about different mental health issues, how to respond in a supportive manner and help employees get connected with company resources. Support is provided through quarterly training and 24/7 phone access to counselors. Consultation with leadership and human resources is included prior to the implementation of the training in order to provide more relevant training to the organization.

Benefits of Mental Health Awareness Program

  • Decrease crisis situations
  • Identify potential at-risk employees sooner
  • Increase employee morale
  • Improve employee engagement
  • Reduce the stigma of mental health

Wellbeing Screenings

Many clients with employees working in high stress roles – such as those in law enforcement, first responders and healthcare – find it valuable to conduct periodic wellbeing screenings. These screenings can often identify employees in the early stages of a mental health issue, ensuring they receive the appropriate care before the issue grows into something more serious.

Espyr completes wellbeing evaluations of each participant. Screening results help determine if the participant would benefit from a referral to their EAP for further assessment and services, primary care physician or other resource. If services are called for, the screener(s) will also follow up to determine if the employee used the suggested resource.

Within 30 days of the conclusion of the screenings, Espyr provides clients with a report discussing the number and nature of referrals made. In addition, recommendations are made for improving morale, creating a better work/life balance or improving employee wellbeing.

Wellbeing screenings are normally in person, but virtual options are available and have been successfully delivered during the COVID-19 pandemic.
