Join us as Elizabeth Sherr, MA, LMHC, CCMHC, NCC will open the doors to a deeper understanding of military culture. She will break down organizational structure, ranks, service branches, core values, and demographics. Our goal is to equip mental health providers with the tools and insights they need to better connect with military members and their families. By gaining a unique perspective on cultural norms and differences within the military community, you'll be well-prepared to engage in meaningful and empathetic interactions.
This curriculum is tailored to benefit healthcare professional who serves members of the military, Veterans, or their families. The cost is $90 and You will receive 5 CEU credits after completion of the workshop.

- Understanding ingrained values and ethos of the U.S. armed forces and law enforcement.
- The lifestyle of military and law enforcement family dynamics and cultural norms

- Ability to analyze potential prejudices, biases, and ethical considerations as a provider working with members and families of military and law enforcement
- Understand clinical presentation and common diagnosis of military, law enforcement, and families
- Identify Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) that have shown to be effective

Fostering Military Cultural Awareness
Elizabeth Sherr is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Elizabeth served 20 years in the United States Army, where she served in a multitude of leadership roles. She is an Operations Iraqi Freedom Veteran and disabled veteran. Ms. Sherr has served the Veteran and First Responder Community for 10 years. She has presented numerous webinars on trauma, military culture, and how war impacts military families for the Ukrainian Psychological Association. She has primarily served the first responder community, focusing on combat and sexual trauma, couples, families, and transitions. She was named a National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) Military Scholar has presented nationally on the topics of Military Sexual Trauma, PTSD, Ambiguous loss, and grief. In addition to her own military career, she is a military spouse and parent of a US Army soldier. Ms. Sherr has 31 years of experience within the military community.
